Superior Spider-Man is a Marvel Comics character whose first appearance was in Avenging Spider-Man #15 (2012) as a teaser, and fully in Superior Spider-Man #1 (2013). He is not Peter Parker, but rather Doctor Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus) who has swapped his consciousness with Spider-Man, effectively killing Peter Parker's mind in Octavius' dying body.
Trapped in Spider-Man's body, Octavius resolves to become a "superior" Spider-Man, improving upon Parker's perceived weaknesses with ruthless efficiency and calculated strategies. This leads to a Spider-Man who is more aggressive, calculating, and willing to make morally questionable decisions.
While initially retaining some of Peter's memories and connections, Octavius gradually asserts his own personality and methods, creating a stark contrast to the familiar friendly neighborhood hero. His tenure as Spider-Man is marked by both successes and controversies, as he struggles to balance his superior intellect with the inherent responsibilities of being a superhero.
